Abstract Title: Green Dome Project: Decreasing Hypoglycemia for Patients with Diabetes on a Heart Failure Unit

Biography: Tana Dautaj, BSN, RN, BA, is a registered nurse at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she has worked on a Heart Failure Unit for nearly four years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Tana serves as an Infectious Disease Champion and Quality Improvement Champion and was a key contributor to the Green Dome Project, a quality improvement project recognized by The Joint Commission for improving diabetic patient safety. Her clinical interests include cardiac care, patient safety and advancing frontline nursing innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Research Interest: Nurse led quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, with a focus on diabetes management, insulin timing and hypoglycemia prevention in the acute care setting. Additional interests include heart failure outcomes, implementation of evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Tana is currently working on a manuscript related to the Green Dome Project for submission to American Nurse Journal.
