Abstract Title: Explore the application of voice recognition to nursing process records

Biography:

Chih-Ping Lee holds a master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of Nursing at National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is currently serving as a Nursing Supervisor at the Hsinchu Branch of National Taiwan University Hospital. With 28 years of experience in nursing, she is presently working in the intensive care unit. Her clinical expertise includes critical care nursing, nursing informatics, and administrative management. She has presented and published dozens of research papers at both domestic and international conferences.

Research Interests:

Nursing records are important reference materials in providing medical services. They refer to written records of the tasks performed by registered nurses when they perform the nursing process. The research purpose Explore the application of voice recognition to nursing process records. This study utilizes a cross-sectional research design with convenience sampling. Data collection will be conducted in the general ward and surgical intensive care unit of a teaching hospital in northern Taiwan from February to October 2023. Following collection, the nursing voice data will undergo analysis using a voice recognition system. Subsequently, nursing defining features will be extracted, modularly reorganized, and translated into medical record. Total collect of 396 nursing voice data in this study. The average accuracy of the voice recognition system in nursing process records is 92.1%. The system consists of two mode, fever and wound mode, with respective accuracies of 101.9% (SD±22.1) and 87.1% (SD±24.7). The study demonstrates that the Natural Language Processing Is capable of accurately converting voice data into nursing documentation(r=.282,p<.001). Significant correlation between which mode and nursing process records is shown in the data(t=-5.842,p<.001)The research results indicate that voice recognition system can be applied to nursing documentation (p<.001).
